MOT - is it possible to preserve the anniversary of the expiry date?

hello all,

My MOT expires on 1st March 2012. I have booked my MOT for Monday 20th February 2012, is it possible to preserve the expiry date, or will i lose these days, and therefore the MOT will now start on 20th February 2012?

You should be OK. They allow at least a month.

On my last M O T certificate I am sure it gives the earliest date it can be renewed without loosing any days, but it is not to hand at the moment

if it passes your mot automatically goes to the date it last passed plus a year
ie 12 months and a week
if it fails vosa stick a pin in your trinidadian doll;):)

No, as a Govt agency VOSA use ethnicity-, gender- and orientation- non-specific dolls.

No. It is verified with the Vin no. Online.

We have always take the old MOT when we have had a test done early, but I'm not sure if it's still necessary now that it is all computerised.

Just checked. You are allowed one month.

Got mine done a month before and new certificate on computer issued with date a year on from previous expiry.
