It was a figure of speech, why would I put Micky mouse on there in reality. My point is what's wrong with putting not checked in there. It's mine to sign why not put the extra info in there.
I appreciate the advice that it's pointless so maybe I will have a change of tack - I soooo wish I could find that guide.

Consider yourself lucky the postman is actually getting you to sign! Online retailers can't limit your consumer rights because you signed for the parcel, unless you are purchasing as a business, but in any case it may be deemed an unfair term to insist you do something the courier doesn't allow. I've signed for thousands of parcels over the years, all with a squiggle that looks nothing like my name or signature and no one cares as it doesn't really matter. Just put whatever you want but it's always good idea to keep people like postman happy so they offer a good service.
