Agree with all the above either go for pre 2009 or post 2010, avoid the i-shift, 6k will get you a nice lowish mileage 2008 of the old shape, the new shape post 2010 will be around £8k.

What is the big deal about the Honda Jazz? I was reading the Honest John article in yesterday's DT, the Honda Jazz seemed to be the universal answer to everything!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I haven't read the HJ article but I've owned a Jazz 1.4 since Sept. 2005 and am extremely happy with it. Totally reliable and over 50 mpg although I have to admit that it lacks the overtaking capability of my XJ8.VfM4meplse wrote: »What is the big deal about the Honda Jazz? We have run a manaul Jazz for 8 years and done 70k miles in that time. The only garage costs have been servicing and consumables - nothing has ever gone wrong. Servicing costs at the Honda dealer have reduced significantly over the years as they have reponded to competition.
The manual gear change is very light and easy - might be worth trying before finalising on an auto.
The car is very practical. Downsides: noisy at high speeds on the motorway and the ride can be bouncy with only one person in the car.
Overall we would definitely buy another.0 -
My dad has a Jazz. Does everything a car should and is cavernous. Only downside is the ride is terrible. He wanted a higher spec one, but this means larger wheels and no option for smaller ones.0

Size, flexibility and reliability. It's supermini sized, yet everything folds including the front passenger seat for long loads. It's big enough to be your only car and to use on long journeys. The best thing about it? The magic seats in the rear. My sister has one and hardly uses the boot as it's easier to flip the rear seat up and use the floor as storage. The man without a signature.0 -
Look at the Nissan Note 1.6 auto. Not a diesel but still fairly economical.
It's got a proper torque converter auto that is as smooth as anything. Loads of room with rear seats that move back and forward.
Don't worry about depreciation as all the cars you mention will probably be worth less than £1000 after 5 years. Just go for the car you like the most, and the one that you think will be the most reliable.0 -
Honda jazz are good little cars but a bit fuddy duddy for a young lady dont you think! how about a hatch like a golf, classy and loads of space plenty for a family of four,my wifes gti has ample space for 3 children0
