Hey people.

I want to know the best way to transfer large sums of money overseas to another account which is also in sterling.

Whats the best bank to do this with? also do they have a limit on how much you can send?

How much money would i be allowed to hand carry abroad to a EU country?

I am buying a house abroad.

Your bank can help or a forex company (be careful as they do not have any insurance against company failure).
You can carry as much cash as you want as long as it is legally come by.

I would be inclined to see if the Cyprus bank has a UK branch. If it does then they probably have some cheap/easy facility for making internal transfers. If it doesnt then any bank will do a SWIFT payment for around £15-30, and some (Halifax) may do it for less. If the receiving account is in GBP also then there will be no exchange rate charge.

please could you recommend a currency broker to transfer approximately 90,000 euros from UK (where money is in sterling in cash ISAs) to Spain to be used for a house purchase in euros?
