Can I paint a spotlight bulb?

Got some cheapish remote controlled spotlights from Costco - but the light is very white/harsh. Would I be able to paint them to give off a cream or orange glow and if so, what type of paint could I use?

Not really as the heat from the lamp will react with the paint0

if you really must, you would need some HT paint. car shops sell it in spray cans.
limited range of colors though.
ive used nail varnish on bulbs in the past with some success. they dont last forever though.Get some gorm.0 -
Wouldn't recommend it at all, next time look at the colour temperature of the lamp if it gives it, 3000K is a warm white colour and a 4000K is a cooler white and anything above is more of a blue light as a rough guide.
I would perhaps suggest using a filter over the light source if you can.Comping twitter @mrsegg10 -
I doubt it would work well. Paint is designed to block light from traveling through it so you don't see the surface behind it. Paint also doesn't respond well to high temperatures. So, I'm wondering, why not just buy another light bulb that has a different light colour?0

When I worked for the Royal navy it was quite common to paint/varnish lamp bulbs when setting up for parties etc. However, I suspect that spotlight bulbs are a lot hotter, so whether it would work for modern lamps I couldn't say.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
