Debt Free soon and need advice on savings/Investments minefield

Just joined forum today and need a few pointers about smart ways to save a bit of cash.

Been looking at ISA's and various other savings accounts but not sure which best suit my needs.

Also there must be other sensible things i could do with my spare cash every month but i dont know where to start.

Brief description of my current status is as follows:

Salary= 20k

Non homeowner i rent

soon to be debt free

spare cash every month = £100

Appreciate any help as i'm scratching my head here, lol.

    Well first off you need to save 3-6 months in cash as an emergency fund. This way you won't go back into debt. Cash Isas will be best to save on tax.

    And join a pension if your employer has one. If they don't, open one as soon as you have your emergency buffer.
