Not really sure why losing your reward points is bait and switch. Also, 18% is a standard APR in the UK, so i don't think you'll get much sympathy from the people here on 39.9%. And thirdly, MBNA Canada isn't owned by the same people as MBNA Europe. Sorry I can't be more supportive but I don't really see what your reason is for posting this thread.
Indeed, frustration makes you to be more blind to many details. As mentioned, I accidentally found this forum and mentioned my apology for venting to other side of the world

It's not just mbna, it came happen to any card. Its a credit, the company as per terms have a right to withdraw from you, it's their money you are using. The credit check must have shown either you too many cards or loans, default, or non payment marks?
The card company is not going to look at how much money you have paid, only what is the risk in future.
That's the risk with any credit card.0
