Someone has already mentioned the seed pots, but lots of other gardening stuff.
Those mini "blowaway" greenhouses, seeds (although I thought these came in weeks ago), pop up planters, plastic planters, compost, mushroom grow kit, etc etc

Fancy the Ph tester myself but always seem to have sold out when I get there lol.

The fruit and beg starter packs look good at £1.99, but will depend on how many crowns/setts etc you get for the money.

Lidl are doing gardening stuff too. Both are selling seed & potting compost, Lidl @£1, Aldi at £1:49 (from memory, so might be wrong...).
From previous purchases, the Lidl compost isn't as good as Aldi's, and I'd spend the extra on Aldi stuff. Mind you, being so cheap, it's likely to change supplier from year to year.

(Alibobsy... it's a new range of seeds coming in, from the catalogue description. )

I got a rosemary bush (£2.99) and a cherry tree (£3.99) from Aldi this week :)
  • For potting compost I don't pay anything, look for mole hills take a bucket and spade, put the soil from the mole hill into bucket and take home. As the mole has dug the soil it is very fine and good for sowing seeds, and its free.

I knew someone that put it in the oven (to kill off germs). I don't go to that length plus the wife wouldn't be too happy.

She doesn't like roast mole, then?

You've not missed much. From what I recall, you're supposed to clean the probe with abrasive paper and pop it in a hole containing water. The readings vary quite a bit over an area even when it's been thoroughly cultivated. Not quite sure what it added to my knowledge of the soil conditions and haven't used it since.

There will be more gardening stuff in Aldi on 23rd Feb (I have just picked up their brochure). I got myself a bag for garden clippings today - decided to go for a flatpack bag as opposed to a popup one. Noticed that they were selling fruit trees (mainly apple and the odd cherry) and they had bags containing 3 fruit bushes - blackcurrant, yellow raspberry and blackberry, or strawberries, raspberries and goosegogs or various currants (not sure of price though).

On 23rd Feb they will be selling garden bulbs - canes, gloves compost, seeds, etc.
  • Ta, got a victoria plum and gage plum for 3.99 each. The green bags and pop up bags looked good.
