Am I allowed to do this??

I've just found a load of rare(ish) trading cards in my father's loft. I've checked out the completed listings and there are some of these cards on there only no where near as many as I've got. Would it be unethical/illegal/wrong to send the auctions via the 'email this to a friend' to the winning and non winning bidders. I'll be listing them for 10 days anyway but thought it might be a good idea to send them to people I know may be interested.

Any thoughts/problems would be appreciated.

Cheers

Yes, it would be wrong as it's considered spamming and against eBays rules.

    See here for info:

It was good to check first. Good luck with the sale! :)

Thanks very much for that, I'll get them listed and just hope for the best. I'll try and use the same sort of listing title and categories, I suppose that may help.

    Thanks again

That's the best way to do it. Anyone interested in those items will be looking in those categories, and will probably have a "Favourate search" set up which will automatically alert them to any new items/items that match their search criteria.

Try and include as many details in your listing as possible, and use words in your description that people are liable to be using to search for those items.
  • Hi Alan, Nightswimmer is right, although it's very tempting, you can't email them as it is against ebay rules. Have a look at how the previous sellers had listed them and use a similar format, people who are looking for rare things often search daily so you will no doubt be equally as successful. Good Luck.
