Copy Windows 7

I recently removed a harddrive from a faulty laptop and put it in a caddy to get access to photos and files on. After copying personal files the intention is to format it to use as a backup. As it has a copy of Windows on it, I think Windows 7, can I copy this to a disc to use on a computer at a later date. Its a paid for version purchased with the computer and has the registration numbers on the laptop. It seems a waste to delete it.

No, that's an OEM license used for that build and only valid when used with that laptop.0
