I have had a current account with Natwest for well over 30 years, they have always seemed OK to me, whenever I have had a problem it has been sorted out satisfactorily so I can't complain.
IMHO NatWest are not fantastic but they are not bad either. much the same as most other banks.
...Don't disagree generally,I've been with them for 40+ years ,online banking is good and find the staff usually polite and helpful - BUT get well p*****d off with this obsession with the "financial review" especially when they make it a condition of obtaining savings/investment information.:(0 -
I have just opened an unfunded 3 year fixed with them to be sourced by transfer from another provider. I was a bit unhappy about the rate leading up to the 4th April, but by the time their paperwork comes through with an account number, and I fill in the transfer form to send off, and the 30 day notice period my current provider requires before releasing the funds to them, I am hoping that I will not have to be on this low rate for too long!
However, there is probably something in the small print to punish me for being in this situation, or there will be some other "get-out" clause.
Not really a problem though, as I was intending to move the ISA anyway - just a matter of finding a different home for it.0 -
I've been with NatWest for well over 30 years also. Apart from this recent "sharp practice" with interest rates and bond/bonus start dates, I have never had any reason to criticise them. The rare problems I have had have always been sorted out very promptly.0
