Can I reclaim Very old business overdraft charges and PPI?

Hello,

Years ago My business was not helped by my then lack of financial education. Having said that, I believe the greedy, unfeeling, robot like attitude of Lloyds bank helped to muller it.

My main question is, how far back can I go re recovering charges and PPI, because some of the worst charges were levied on Me in the early 90s, like £25 (that’s probably equivalent to £45 now) for every failed cheque, DD, SO, etc; driving Me deeper into debt. Also, they forced Me to accept the conversion of the overdraft into a loan and cover it with PPI.

I accept that it is all My responsibility, even if Lloyds were barstewards, and that I should not have written cheques that might not clear, but in mitigation, I was naive and My head was messed up and spinning with the pressure of it all. So I did not know if money owed to Me would arrive and clear in time etc; and if I did not pay a company for goods to work with I could not carry on etc.

Often, I would have guaranteed, solid cheques from insurance companies like Norwich Union etc; valued at well over what was required to cover the overdraft limit, the cheques I wrote, DDs, etc; sitting in My account waiting to clear, and Lloyds still bounced small DDs, cheques etc and charge Me loads of £25s putting Me deeper into a hole.

Sorry to go on, I can assure You this is the massively abridged version. I would like to know if there is a trustworthy company that would totally handle a charges and PPI claim going from say 2004 back to 1990.

Thank You,

Paul.

Bank charges are something you cannot generally claim back unless you are currently in financial hardship and the charges currently being applied are stopping you from breaking a cycle and creating suffering.

None of which should have been a surprise to you as the charges were published and you knew they would be charged in those scenarios. Since the court case ruled in favour of the banks, complaints on charges died a death other than incorrect application (doesnt apply here) and financial hardship (doesnt appear to apply here as you are looking at those from over 20 years ago).

    There is no such beast.

There more be scope on PPI if you were mis-sold but timing would be key on that as Lloyds tend to destroy old data and if you are lacking information and they no longer have it then a complaint on that basis would fail.
