Overnight Stay Nr Eurotunnel Needed

HI I WONDER IF ANYONE OUT THERE CAN HELP PLEASE. DH AND 3 CHILDREN (12,7 &4) HAVE BOOKED TO GO TO DISNEYLAND PARIS IN COUPLE OF WEEKS. HAVE NEVER BEEN TO FRANCE. HAS ANYONE GOT ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR HOTELS WE COULD STAY AT IN CALAIS, AS NEAR TO EUROTUNNEL AS POSSIBLE.

I HAVE SPOTTED BONSAI HOTEL CALAIS WHICH IS A BUDGET HOTEL. THIS IS ESSENTIAL AS WHILE WE HAVE GOT GOOD DEAL ON DISNEYLAND, THE MORE ADDITIONAL MONIES SPENT ON TRAVEL/ACCOMODATION THE LESS TO SPEND ON THE KIDDYWINKS WHILST AWAY.

AS I SAY THE BONSAI HOTEL LOOKED A GOOD OPTION BUT FIRSTLY WONDERED WHETHER ANYONE HAD USED THIS OR SIMILAR HOTEL AND COULD GIVE OPTION OR SUGGEST SOMEWHERE ELSE, BUT IT ALSO STATES ON A GREAT DEAL OF SITES THAT ABOVE HOTEL HAS FAMILY SUITES, WONDERED IF ANYONE COULD CONFIRM OR DENY THIS. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATILY APPRECIATED AS ALL THE ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN LEFT FOR ME TO MAKE. USUALLY THIS IS FINE BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABROAD SINCE THE KIDS CAME ALONG AND I AM GETTING UNNERVED AT THE THOUGHT OF A FORIEGN LAND AND IT ALL GOING TERRIBLY WRONG.

THE REASON WE CONSIDERED CALAIS IS MORE OF THE ARRIVAL JOURNEY IS COVERED, SETTING OU AFRESH ON FIRST DAY IN FRANCE AND THE RETURN JOURNEY WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A LOOK ROUND CALAIS OR HYPERMARKETS NEAR CALAIS.

I, OF COURSE, AM VERY EXCITED AND ANY HELP OFFERED WOULD BE GREATILY APPRECIATED. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Have a look here for some ideas for hotels - we usually book 2 rooms at etap as there are 5 of us as well! ( I think there's a nice one near Cite Europe - the big shopping centre near the Eurotunnel exit)

Many Thanks Shown73 And Louisa Jane For Taking The Trouble To Answer My Query. These Sites Definately Have Plenty Of Info In Them And I Enjoy Getting Any Useful Info Out. It Might Make The Prospect Of Travelling Abroad Less Scary.

I'm Sure That We Will Have A Great Time By Right Now I Am Feeling Dauted By It All.

We stayed at the suitehotel last year. It's ideal for a family as the rooms are huge, it has a microwave, fridge, kettle etc, and you can pull a screen across the room to give privacy for the older kids.

stayed in the etap in calais for 1 night last summer, not far from tunnel really easy to get to, short walk from hotel to shopping centre,
rooms basic but good value and clean, plenty of parking

The only trouble is it only sleeps 4 people - this is the bane of my life as we are a family of 5!!

Tell Me About It. We Noticed This With All Holidays That Aren't Based Around A Chalet/caravan. I Have Nothing Against Holiday Parks But It Is A Real Pain To Just Go Away For Just An Overnight Stay Anywhere. It Basically Costs Similar Amount For An Overnight Stay In Hotel As Having A Weekend In Holiday Camp Due To Needing Two Rooms To Accommodate Everyone. Sorry About The Little Rant-feel A Bit Better Now. Thanks For Everyone's Contributions. Much Appreciated. WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THESE CAPITALS AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH WORD-THAT WILL TEACH ME TO USE CAPS LOCK.
