Car Tyre Valve?

Hi I think I have one tyre with a faulty valve? The one tyre can go down within a couple of mths from 30 psi to 19.5 psi? when the other three barely go down to 29 psi. It is a new tyre only bought last year. Also wondered if it had been sealed properly?
Can the valve be changed quickly if taken to be checked at a garage?

Thx

Use soapy water to find out if the air is coming out of the valve or somewhere else.
The valves just screw in and out of the tube thingy with a specific tool so you could do it yourself if you have a way of pumping the tyre back up.
  • Take it back to where you bought it from and ask them to check the tyre and valve.

If it is the valve, it can be unscrewed and replaced in less than a minute. You can buy new inserts at most car spares shops. My pen-type pressure gauge has a tool built into the top specificaly for doing this.

If you have alloy wheels it can also be a leak between the tyre and the wheel.

of course it could be...........der..... der...der..der........... a puncture

all new tyres should have new valves so if you paid for this ask for them to check it

unlike shares tyres can only go down due to underinflation please ask a tyre advisor regulated by the tyre pump advisory council
