Spelling mistake on mortgage offer - really worried

Hello,
Me and my OH have had a formal mortgage offer from Halifax and are hoping to exchange contracts on our house next week. However my solicitors has just told me today that my OH's surname is spelt slightly wrong on the mortgage offer (can't say I noticed when we received our copy) so she's had to request that Halifax amend it and send across a new offer.
Am really worried now as I was seriously scared we wouldn't get a mortgage anyway, and was over-the-moon when Halifax gave us a formal offer.
Will this spelling mistake mean that Halifax could now change their minds? Will they go through the whole application process again? Or is it something quick and easy for them to amend?
Please help, I'm stressing out a lot here!!

Chill! It's extremely unlikely that they'll start re-evaluating anything, they're just correcting a typoMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0

They will re-credit score the application so there is a risk of a different outcome.
Sorry if that doesn't reassure you.
Keep your fingers crossed and hopefully everything will be ok.Chill! It's extremely unlikely that they'll start re-evaluating anything0 -

Unfortunately it isn't a simple case of tippexing over the mistake.
Thanks for you help.
That's exactly what I'm worried aboutWill they re-credit score both me and my OH do you think? (it's just OH's name that is spelt wrong) My OH's credit score is pretty good, it was more mine that I was worried about.

It takes about 30 seconds for them to do it.
Based on what you've said, you've already passed with your name mis-spelled. So I doubt you'll get a different outcome.
If the case has already been to the underwriters prior to the incorrect offer, it may have to be re-referred to them. This could delay things by a day or two, but will simply be a case of confirming what they've already confirmed so would be a formality.0 -

Thank you, that does make me feel a little better.
Yes, I assume we'd already passed - we had the AIP, then Halifax did then valuation, then they made the formal offer which we received in writing. Although I wonder how they can have approved us initially with a wrong name? Did they credit search my OH and find him not existing (with that spelling) but approve us anyway?!!
I can't believe I didn't notice the spelling mistake when it came through - I guess I was just looking at everything else, not our names.
I thought it was too good to be true when we got the formal offer - now I think we won't possibly be lucky two times!!!
My solicitor says it should take about 48hrs to hear from Halifax...I'll be panicking until then.No Buying Toiletries Challenge since 23/10/2011

Fingers crossed, and do let us know the outcome.

How did you get on Lucyloo77?
I'm just asking as I'm going through a similar experience as they spelt my wifes name wrong, and only just realised. It's back with Santander, but we're meant to move in 5 days!0 -
I think that Halifax are the ones to go for to get mortgages these days. My brother, 3 years in his current job, earns £18K, recently got a mortgage for £97K. We were all shocked. This doesn't sound right but it's true.0

I'm sure it will ll be fine. My husbands name was also spelt wrong on his mortgage application with Halifax It was corrected and all relevant paper work was with us and solicitors with in 5days0
