How do I email Barclays ?

We have a current account with Barclays and are registerd online.
I am having problems obtaining a refund from a company and have been told to request a chargeback but trying email them just sends me in circles.
The phone numbers listed seem chargeable and I can't figure out which dept anyway.I may be able to get into branch on Friday but really wanted to sort something out today.

www.saynoto0870.com might help you find a local number.

I find many companies take days to answer email. Rarely use it for important communication.

I have the same problem. Having just been moved to the new-style online banking, I was surprised to find that opening up each account details don't show the current interest rate for that account, so I thought I'd email and ask them how to find it - I figured that asking why it doesn't show such a basic piece of information was just asking to be ignored. So I asked the question, first it tries to match it to existing questions in the FAQs, but offers "ask a question that's not in the list". So I hit that, it asks me what department I'm asking about (even though I'd selected "online banking" in the first place), then makes me type the question in again (second time around I remembered to copy it to the clipboard). When it still can't find a suitable FAQ and reluctantly offers the chance to "email us", when I click that link it logs me out of online banking. If I log back in again, (perhaps thinking it's a second-level check to make sure that only those who really, really want an answer are allowed to email) it has forgotten about the fact that I'm trying to send an email and just puts me in the usual "accounts home" screen.

Given that they've been testing this new on-line banking for months, I can't see how this has been missed. One of the options was "contact the online banking helpdesk" but guess what - it's telephone only! Unbelievable.

And why can't they answer questions by email about my account (as opposed to general non-account-specific questions) if I've sent the email via the online banking site? They say it's for security reasons, but that's rubbish - I've logged in to online banking so it's secure enough for me to transfer all my money out to someone else, but it's not secure enough for them to answer a question?

to the best of my knowledge Barclays dont yet offer any form of secure messaging. If you have a relationship manager you will normally have their email address but they wont answer personal enquiries via it (basic things of how do you find XYorZ online they obviously will)
