Well I saved up 10,000 and I dont know what to do with it. I wanted to put it in some kinda savings account where it would stack up over the years. I live in CA, Sacramento and don't know where to start. I am 22, live on my own, and have 2 cars. I have money to set aside for bills and stuff and have 10,000 to do what ever. What account or bank or place do you recommend?

You'll get a better response on a US-based website no doubt!0

You might not have realized, this website is UK (Great Britain) based.0

I can put you on to my Uncle. He is the right honorable mayor for the capital city of the country of Butundu. Unfortunately, when the despot government took over he had to leave $50 million in safety storage in South Africa. This is his money, but he has not a penny to scratch his leg with so cannot pay the fees ($10,000) to have the money released.
By your most gracious and appreciated help he will give you a minimum return of 100% on your investment. Also through Paypal of course.0 -
Since no one else has been very helpful, here goes...
If this is your only spare cash, then it's probably safer to keep it in an instant access account of some sort, so it's available for emergencies. That's probably going to be a savings account with whatever bank is paying the best interest. However, in the US, there are also money market mutual funds with checking facilities, so this might be worth thinking about too.
As per the others, a US-based board will have people with better understanding.
All the best,

Two people told the OP to go to a US-based site, and two made jokes. There was no constructive advice at all.0
