for those that try to decieve

Previous thread has been closed probably because people are trying to find ways to deceive or beat the system.

I hope that for people that are not honest with the way that they conduct themselves during the br period and the dealings with the OR can cope with the fallout if it all goes wrong.

And in lots of ways i see why they do it as they will probably get a slap on the wrist but is it worth the worry i wonder?

Hi lili, I wholey agree with you, but if a thread has been closed then it is usually not a good idea to start a new one on the same subject.:)
Hi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.
  • Hi Debtinfo

I just needed to vent really that you see people come on here with such a defiance about them that it annoys me so much when you have the other side of the coin (a lady on here feeling so worried about the BR/OR situation that she was suicidal) and yet they get away with it when other peole like myself worry about getting everything right.

  • Are you one of these people that sees tax avoidance as the same thing as tax evasion?

If so, it probably explains why you get so wrung up over something that is essentially a business arrangement not a moral one.
  • Why would this bother you in the slightest? I'm at a loss as to how a complete stranger deals with a personal financial issue would affect your life? There are more ways to skin a cat so to speak and as long as you are open and honest in what you do, what on earth is the problem. Bankruptcy isn't a crime and people are obviously affected in different ways, but just as some need a cyber arm around them, others will get back on their bikes and make things happen just as before. The post above hits the nail on the head re tax avoidance and tax evasion. Rules are rules and if you dont like them challenge the people that make them, not the people who follow them.

they prob wouldnt be trying to beat the system, had the system shown them some fairness in the first point.
if only life was a box of chocs
  • Well the last two posts sum it up really!! I suppose that you both agree with fraud in general then. I know that I am totally correct in what I am saying and I am not going to get into an arguement with you about this.

Rules are there for a reason i.e. drink driving unless of course you agree with that too
  • Oh and Ivorsgirl - you are aware of exactly what you are doing!
  • My concern would be that if individuals are openly discussing ways in which to get round the system/ play the system (or however else you wish you word it) then the Insolvency Service will look to make things even tougher. It is not for anyone other than the IS / OR to decide what is deemed fair, they are the ones we are answerable to when we go BR.

It's easy for people to take the "I'm alright Jack" attitude, but just because you have been discharged doesn't mean to say further investigations into the individual's affairs won't happen.

As a word of caution, please remember that this is a public forum, for anyone to read (including those who work for the IS) and these kinds of attitudes can come across as rubbing people's noses in it.

  • I agree wildheart83, Im certainly not saying that im perfect and im not saying that i havent made mistakes as i have, but coming on a public forum and implying that you can do what you want without any consqeuences is being rather silly if you ask me.

I have often wondered how many people do play the system and get away with it, maybe they dont come on here and have all the invaluable advice that experienced members who really do know the rules inside out and upside down and just carry on and not realise the mistakes they are making and that is so different to what certain people are doing.

There are so many different ways of looking at this but i dont think that the comment that if the system had treated them better is very clever really.

Anyhow each to their own i guess
