Never mind the prestige to the uk as a whole. Why on earth do the small charities in Wales have to suffer?

Never understood why we wanted the olympics in the first place, it'll cost the best part of 10 billion in the end and what for 2 weeks of athletics that nobody will watch, personally I would have prefered the money to go to the NHS

Our tax should pay for the NHS not the lottery. The principle with lottery funding is that it should not replace statutory funding, rather it should go to voluntary and charity groups which cant access statutory funding.

I agree that Welsh charities and community and voluntary groups should not lose out on lottery funding because of the London Olympics. Private profits for London property developers etc will be huge in the run up and just after 2012 - why can't they be taxed harder to help pay for the whole fiasco - sorry festival?
