Heating Dining Kitchen - Hydroflame?

We have just remove the wall that separated the dining room & kitchen. I have been looking for a way to heat the room using the central heating but don't want a radiator. I have found a fire that works off the CH called Hydroflame from Smiths which seems to be just what I'm looking for but I have been unable to find any reviews. Does anyone have this fire and if so is it as efficent & reasonable cheap to run as it suggests on the website.

Many thanks

I have Smiths EcoVector's which the fire you describe works on the same principal of. They are fantastic! Super quick heat up times compared to radiators. A lot less extra water to heat too as there is only a couple of litres in the heat exchanger. You can fit & forget - the fan will switch on / off as and when hot water is available from the CH system.

I started out looking at the Smiths Hydroflame, but bought the Valor Hydroflame instead. The innards are the same, but the Valor Dream fascia is prettier, and the electric heating element comes as standard.

The Valor sounds like real flame due to the fluttering silk.

Need to hoover more, as the fan does disturb the dust nearby.

In June 2011, I paid £424.56+VAT and free delivery for "Valor Hydroflame Dream Gold".

Concrete corrodes copper pipe, so make sure your plumber does it properly.
  • Thank you for your replies. I'll look at the Valor one thank you. Glad that it is generally positive feed back as it ticks all the boxes for me (except the hoovering one!)
