parking eye

I have received a letter today from Roxburghe debt collectors, on behalf of Parking Eye Ltd. I am supposed to have been parked on a car park near to where i live last october and ran over my time. I have not received any correspondance with regards to this fine at all since the incident was supposed to have occured. I have today (14th feb) received a demand from the above debt collector for a sum of £177.00. Could anybody advise me on this situation. I have looked at other users comments that advise not to pay this penalty. Would this be a wise decision. Thanks

    Sue,

It would be wise to not pay the penalty as it is not a penalty. A private company has no legal power to impose a penalty on you as an individual in such circumstances.

Just ignore them from now. And also be careful if you receive any private messages from someone who doesn't have a high post count as the Parking Eye tea boy has been known to try and trick people into revealing details about posters here.

This is not any sort of fine! Just ignore the scammers. :)

And go check the sticky to see what to expect next then stop worrying.

Its nearly two years since PE issued me a ticket, nothing happened after I ignored the letters. :)

It's a "look we will skip the first couple letters and go straight to the debt collectors" ticket from Parking Spy.

The advise is the same as any other ticket from Parking Spy, ignore it
  • It is total rubbish. This company is a complete joke, they will do nothing. Keep on ignoring. Your next correspondence will probably be from Graham White Solicitors, which is a fake and is just Roxburghe using different headed paper.

File all letters under attempted scam and don't reply. Come back and tell us when they stop writing (they always do) just to reassure others that what we tell you is true.

Read the top sticky thread, 'PPC letters & threats' and watch the Watchdog clip there and be ready for each predictable letter. Easy.

See my signature if unsure how to view the forum index view with sticky threads being the permanent info threads at the top. Only a click away.

I think Parking Eye are on a mission to reduce costs, saving postage, stationary and maybe even a DVLA keepers request. Pass it straight to Poxburghe and save, save, save,

Advise stays the same though ignore the dopes!

Not a fine, an invoice, ignore then ignore some more. I's as enforceable as a Dog Warden/CEO giving you a ticket for Cat fouling, because some cat dug a hole in a flowerbed and dumped by where you were stood
  • There are certainly signs of desperation, aren't there? Perhaps all our "clients" are telling all their friends... who are telling all their friends... who are telling all their friends....etc etc ... soon there won't be enough people left who don't realise it's all a scam and the PPCs will go out of business....
