Radiator in attic only getting half warm???

hi all,
Need a bit of help from the experts...I have around 10 radiators in my house and when the CH is switched on, all the radiators are very hot to touch except the one in the attic....This only gets half warm from the bottom so the top half is still cold.
With the CH on, the boiler is giving pressure of 1.5 bar.....I have also tried taking air out of the radiator which is not heating enough but after the air is out, no water comes out of the boiler???
The valves on the radiator in question are open fully...
Where am I going wrong?...Do I need to put more water into my boiler system or is there another problem?
Help would be appreciated.

The fact that the air comes out and no water would suggest the system loses pressure, so a system top up may be required until you get rid of all the air and a little water at the vent to prove the rad is full?
It should be OK then!Signature removed0 -
If it's properly bled, water should trickle out of the bleed valve. If it's rapidly filling up with air again, then you have a fault that is allowing air to enter the circuit, it then rises to the highest point.
You need to repressurise each time you bleed, as the pressure will drop slightly. What is the pressure when the system is cold-around 1 bar?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Yes the pressure is just over one bar when the system is cold...
I never get any water trickling out of the bleed valve on this rad regardless of how long I keep the valve open for.
Where is the fault likely to be and what sort of fault are talking about?Boiler fault or system fault etc?0 -
You need to bleed with the system off.
When you bleed and the air stops, go down to the boiler and see what the pressure is.
If there is no pressure, top it up and bleed again.
You may have to do it a few times. (Big help if you have someone to do one or the other with you.)I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Thanks very much mate...I will do this tomorrow morning and get back to all with the results..Does the pressure need to be set at 1bar with the system off?0

Just to let you all know I done the above work and I now have water coming out of that radiator via the bleed valve and with the CH turned on, I now have a full hot working radiator :-)
I did lose pressure in my boiler after I took the air out of the radiator so had to do a top up...
Hopefully that's the end of my problems but if the radiator does go cold on me again due to air in the sytem, then I will get back to you experts...0
