My Mothers gas supply has just ceased to exist. Having phoned Transco to notify them of the problem, she was informed its not our problem! its the meter. She has now contacted the meter supplier (she has a pre payment gas meter) capital somebody? to be informed we will be out sometime in the next 3 days. My Mother has informed the company that she is severely asthmatic and that my Gran who also lives there has emphysema still the companies stance has not changed. What can she do to get this problem sorted quicker?.

i know there is a vulnerable users code/list but dont know if this applies to all suppliers, ask your supplier and if i find out more i'll let you know.

Sounds like Transco are fobbing you off. If you have no supply then they should deal with it as they have keys to add credit normally. However, another way is to suggest you can smell gas e.g there's a leak and they should be there within hours not days.0

I know this states the ovious but has the credit run out, if it has you can use the emergency to put the gas back on, you will still have to insert your card for this to work, this happened at my parents and this is how i got the gas back on. insert card press red or black button and hold keep presing you will here the gas hissing through press again and it will say gas on in the bottom of the screen. hope this helps0

hi all have been round to dispatch the fan heaters, so the house is now warm although not doing Mums asthma the world of good and at 930pm a man arrived from capital meters to attempt to sort out the problem (he obviously wanted the overtime). Its not the gas supply, its the meter and the card. The meter has been sorted so now she has to wait for a new card to arrive, and transco have been exceptionally generous with the the £2 credited to the account to last approx 3 days thank you all for your replies0
