CASH ISA Query

I have enquired about a Natwest Fixed rate ISA. For 2 years, the rate is 3.5%. But if I do a 'transfer in', it becomes a preferential rate of 3.9%. I do not have an ISA at the moment, so can I open an ISA with another provider (i know the limit for the tax year is £5340) then transfer it shortly afterwards into the Natwest ISA?

Not sure if there is a minimum time that the ISA has to be open before i can do the cash transfer. The Natwest rate is only available until 29th Feb

That's cheating! Like your style though.

Don't forget Nat West pay a dreadful rate between opening and the 5th April.

Each extra 0.1% you earn on the fix is worth £5.34 a year.
