wowcher oevr groupon

Options
I've finally bitten the bullet & took some of your advice i avoided groupon but went with wowcher as it seemed smaller & only charged 40% on sales just wondered if anyone had used them before as am just coming to sign as getting a little nervous as some bits in the contract not discussed & added which is making me a little dubious :-/

    only 40%:eek::eek::eek:
    i would give them all a wide berth , you'd be better off giving customers a cash off next time they shop voucher yourself
  • That would be ok but you cant get over 1,000 a sales just from those i'm afraid

    So you followed the advice on here and jumped out of the frying pan only to jump into the fire.

    40% is astronomical I hope your margins aren't tight as you could be working for free.
    Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

    I don't know what threads you have read but another forum I use has people often talking about group on and the like and the majority of feedback is that people just want a deal... They aren't going to come back to you they will find the same/similar deal elsewhere and then go there. That's what they do. One of my clients the other day was talking about group on deals and said her otherhalf owns a restaurant and he did a deal and people were literally making the 1 drink they got with their meal last aaall night!

    Obviously there are things you can try and do to encourage people to spend more eg. upgrade services or take their contact details to add to your mailing list and email special offers to them which might encourage them to come back, but that's a risk you'vegot to decide's worth taking.

    I don't know what your business is, but don't forget if it's a service business eg. restaurant/bar/hairdressing etc. that you limit when the voucher can be redeemed as you need your full paying customers otherwise you will be bringing in no money as surely there's not much profit left after you've discounted the service ridiculously and then given nearly 50% of an already discounted service/product away? Nobody can tell you how torun your business but it sure does seem like more business owners have negative experiences than positive experiences.

    If you are debating signing the form then surely that's your gut instinct kicking in telling you it's wrong? x
