Who will (hopefully) say. "Oh, I'll make sure that doesn't happen. Please come and pay for your shopping."
Some people have way too much time on their hands
Can I help?0 -
To which I would respond, "sorry but that was what your colleague told me last time and those barstewards in the parking firm still made me pay" exit store.0

Funnily enough - this has just happened to me. I thought I'd go to town, do my shopping, take my laptop and do my work in the coffee shop and I got completely absorbed and got back to my car just over 2 hours later - I think - I can only go on what time I made a call, and I think it was more than two hours before i left. I was really annoyed at myself - I could just as easily come home and done my work at home, but I thought it'd make a nice change. So now I have to go through the horrible wait. How do you know if there is an ANPR camera there? I couldn't see any cameras, but there are signs everywhere saying there are.
How does it matter? These fake PCNs are scams, see the top thread and the Watchdog clip.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Really? How do you know that?
Random folk are allowed to use many Supermarket car parks for free parking where I live (including a Tesco car park which has a 2 hr limit - could be the same one), as the Council wants to encourage people to use the local shops and makes it a condition of the planning consent when Tesco or other Supermarkets get the agreement to build a store there.
Aldi got caught out pretending they could 'fine' people who used their car park when the Council had specifically said shoppers using the local shops had to be allowed to use the car park for free:

You should check your facts before making assumptions. You do not know the facts as you don't know where the OP lives nor what the planning permission is for that car park.
And I hope you are not one of those people who actually swallows the idea that these fake PCNs in car parks are real fines, are you? I laughed when one dippy Tesco cashier tried to tell me that, in all seriousness, the other month. If so then please stick around, you may learn something on this forum to save you some money!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Love the link....How much have they made with these fake invoices over the period in question? Probably more than the "fine" that was imposed on the supermarket in question....Coupon-mad wrote: »Really? How do you know that?

You are surely not one of those Tesco employees who actually swallowed the idea that these fake PCNs in Tesco car parks are real fines, are you? I laughed when one dippy cashier tried to tell me that, in all seriousness, the other month. Or maybe you're a Tesco customer who thinks these are real PCNs? You should check your facts before making assumptions.
And...at the end of that article the cheek of that supermarket trying to get rid of the condition to provide only 5 parking spaces for 14 residential units. They got planning approval based on that and now they want that reversed. The residential units will probably only really need the spaces out of hours when the supermarket is closed.:footie:

If I had access to the facts it would'nt be an assumption.Coupon-mad wrote: »You should check your facts before making assumptions. You do not know the facts as you don't know where the OP lives nor what the planning permission is for that car park.

The thing is you made an assumption, and you really don't know the lay of the land at that particular tesco, and to be fair I don't either. The point is though that most people simply offer advice in accordance to the ethos of the site, without making judgments . Perhaps you try it ?Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

Of course there may be the odd rarity that a Tesco car park is full to bursting point. But as abusing car park privileges are even rarer, give it two minutes and a space will be available.
Were car park abuse so rife, you would NEVER find a spot, streets would seem eerily clear of parked cars, as people find the idea of parking at a Supermarket carpark a safer alternative, with 24Hr CCTV keeping an eye out on your car.
People just cannot be bothered deliberately choosing a supermarket car park in order to go elsewhere. One or two cars may well be parked whilst the owner goes to a local shop or play centre, but literally one or two, certainly not enough to make it a big enough issue with a complete lack of parking spaces.
Only when it becomes a major issue, with 24 hours of rammed carparks and no customers whatsoever would I concern myself with car park abuse. But even then (which is hardly ever likely to be the case), I would remind the driver that this "fine" they have, is nothing more than an unenforceable invoice that can be safely ignored.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
