ppi misold?

having a paperwork day and while looking through my virgin credit cards details, I have found a copy of the payment protection plan, however, it appears that they wouldn't pay out as i don't pay class 1 national contributions. they never checked this with me although we did have a conversation about the protection. so have i been mis sold or was it up to me to check thi in the terms and conditions, it says you must be employed and then in a smaller bullet point, class 1 NI being paid!!

would appreciate any comments

    Hi there

They will probably try saying it was down to you to check and so on, but sometimes they do not make things clear, and its all jargon. (even the terms and conds).
They should have at least given you an option and not make you take it out, and also check if you were/are eligible for the policy.

Where you may have been protected say for example, unemployment, you may not have been for sickness, because say if there was a pre med condition at the time you taken this out, the policy would not pay out for that reason on that condition.
They may state that you would still be covered for life cover, hospitalisation, but your point is you were not "fully covered" so you believe the policy is worthless to you and you were deprived of your money paying full ppi on the policy.

So anything that applies to you, write them down on your complaint.

    Hope this helps, good luck.
