We normally charge £50 including hose for the gas oven. Or £40 if the hose is already there.

He is talking about a gas hob not a cooker, you cannot use a flexible hose for a hob it has to be rigid copper pipe.

I'm £65 plus materials, plus vat in cambs, London I'd expect around £120 plus vat inc materials tops,

Note though if installing in a flat make sure the hob has thermocouple safety shut offs or it will be illegal

    I'm £80 + materials plus VAT.

As you have a flat, make sure the hob is fitted with FSD's.

Thats for a gas hob tho isn't it?, presume electric socket for ignition and gas. Most new electric hobs need a dedicated feed....fine if it's there.

Its got both. A double socket for plugs and an oven and hob switched set to a new fuse box with the correct fuses. The latter were for my ceramic hob, but I dropped a bit mortar on the edge and so it cracked. So that' s got to go out. Being made redundant too skint to buy an induction. As to profit re someone's profiteering landlord point, profit -what's that. Even renting it out, I'll need a job to cover the rest.
  • Do you have to register newly installed hobs with anyone for building regs?

Ah thanks. The variation is black and white. And that query was derived from advice a gas fitter from a Southwark Council recommended tradesman list told me. There's no chance for the layman is there to get a job done efficiently and effectively. Lord give me strength.
