Instead of tckts, try this site: http://www.broadwaybox.com/
It has most of the discounts that the tkts booth has but you can buy in advance. The main advantage is that you know where your tickets will be. When I've used tckts I've often been stuck with poor seats.0 -
hi
went in dec and tkts booth was pants! it depends on where you want to sit. i wanted stalls or decent seats and none of the plays they had were with decent seats. We wanted to see color purple which was absolutely amazing and got tickets from tout outside tkts booth. we got stalls , row k for $150 for 2 tickets. the touts are fine. do not book with concierge at hotel as is bucks.!!0 -
Another site like broadway box is theatremania.com

We got tickets for Hairspray from tkts, I looked around the theatre and all seats were good.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

It completely depends on when you go !!
I have had 5th row seats for Hairspray for $100 for both which was great.
Most people use the Tkts booth on broadway (although this is currently under construction, so is now located on 48th Street at the Mariott) and it can be busy, so I have used the one down near South Street Seaport, just diagonally accross from the GAP store.
Only ever seen the queue have 10 people in it maximum, but it's the same ticketing system as those waiting for hours on Broadway
