npower sign online 21 ending..big cost jump!!!
Had a letter through advising me that my current contract was ending at the end of March. I use about 4800 kw on this plan per annum (gas of about 14000kw per annum is on a B Gas websaver 11).
Tried the comparison sites but all are reporting a big jump in my annual electricity cost (from about £500 to about £660). Anybody else experiencing similiar price jumps as contract come to an end.
My best option at present appears to be to pay the £30 early exit fee with British Gas and switch both to First Utility Fixed Rate Dual Fuel. Still about £80 worse off after the fee, but at least I have no tie ins, so can move again if another option comes available.
Any other ideas/suggestions?

Lots of probs with FU customer service and billing encountered, just do a search on this board.
They came out bottom amongst the non-Big Six providers in the recent Which survey.
Cheap, but not cheerful it seems. No free lunch, and no free laptop

On the contrary, First Utility tariffs commonly feature just about the largest "deferred discount" going. Beware "deferred discount" if you do not understand the circumstances you could forfeit the discount.0
