BOS gone quiet - PPI claim - next move?

Have a claim into BOS for PPI and sent letter to them beginning of December. They were very quick with initial replies confirming account numbers etc then last letter dated 28th Dec said they cannot find any PPI on the account I referred to. I resent all the info along with original paperwork asking them to explain further (it quite plainly states the creditcare insurance payment part) and to date no response. Find it odd they were quick swift with initial comms and now nothing. Is there a timecale I should wait for? Should I contact Ombudsman after a certain period? Any help appreciated.
Thanks,

The first step here is to phone BoS and ask them for an update. They may be investigating, checking files etc and simply not got around to acknowledging your last letter.0

Cheers DrSqueeze.
Seems there is an 8 week time for them to respond from my last letter to them dated January 4th so will hopefully hear something by month end/begiining of March.0
