Hi freddiesmum it really is easier than you think I'll try to explain.

    1. Buy greeting card approx. £2.50 & purchase a £15 gift card on special offer for £10 so total one off payment of £12.50

    2. Repeat transaction but pay with the gift card just purchased which will leave a balance of £2.50 & gift card of £15 total now £17.50:D:D

    3. Repeat transaction but pay with balance of £2.50 & part of the £15 which will now leave a balance of £5 + new £15 gift card total now £20.

And so on the more cards you buy the better. You have to purchase 1 card & 1 gift card each time & use balance of previously bought gift card. Each transaction should give you approx £2.50 more in gift card value. HTH

It worked perfect for me so give it a go you'll be so happy you did. The SA was very happy to do it & would be trying it herself. Going to different store tomorrow to try it again:j:j:j:j:j:j
can i ask please in point 3 you say use the balance from the previous card .do you have to do this or can you just use the last card you purchased .also do you buy one card and then walk away from the till to do the whole thing again or do you take a few at a time.thansk

You can use whatever cards you want to pay for each transaction but it makes sense (well to me anyway) to kill a gift card as quick as possible otherwise you'll end up with a literal deck of cards and not know what you're doing. Not sure if you saw my post but it explains what gift card to use and what the balance will be:

    Trans 1: buy card & GiftCard1 (Balance £15) - outlay £12.50
    Trans 2: card & GC2 - use GC1 (-£12.50, new balance £2.50)
    Trans 3: card & GC3 - use GC1 (-£2.50, new balance £0) and GC2 (-£10, new balance £5)
    Trans 4: card & GC4 - use GC2 (-£5, new balance £0) and GC3 (-£7.50, new balance £7.50)
    Trans 5: card & GC5 - use GC3 (-£7.50, new balance £0) and GC4 (-£5, new balance £10)
    Trans 6: card & GC6 - use GC4 (-£10, new balance £0) and GC5 (-£2.50, new balance £12.50)
    Trans 7: card & GC7 - use GC5 (-£12.50, new balance £0), GC6 and GC7 both have £15

Personally I'd take a couple of cards to the till and see if they'll let you use the gift card from transaction 1 to pay for the 2nd transaction. If you think the SA will play nicely you could ask if s/he minds if you go and get some more as this is a fantastic deal. If they seem happy then fill your boots. If they seem reluctant then cut your losses and try another store or try later in the day with a different SA.

The main thread for this has disapeared, so its likely that WHS have twigged and this glitch will not be on tomorrow (can imagine emails going out to all stores this evening to pull the posters off the shop floor?)

    to answer your questions..
From what Ive picked up from here, you dont 'have' to use the balance from the previous card (the point3) but it makes sense otherwise you will end up with lots of cards with odd amounts of money on. Doing it the way the Op and choirchick suggests allows you to build up bigger amounts on the cards.
Secondly, it appears that some people have taken several cards up to the counter and done several separate transactions, but have been lucky to find amenable SAs. I dont have the guts to do that, and I think this is less likely to be sucessful tomorrow anyway.

Im going to give it a go tomorrow, just in case it works, I'll try to go through a couple of times separately and see what happens:)

:o Steady on. Glad to help, I seem to have been lazy for a few weeks :p so this should make up for it.
I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!

Why is it this thread is such a community that I find myself worrying about somebody who I've never even met? It just goes to show how valuable this thread is in so many ways to so many people.

((((Hugs)))) to you LTF, do you have anybody you can talk to face to face?Maybe a counsellor or somebody impartial? If not then come here as much as you like there are LOADS of people here who care about each other and will listen and give you support.

Hospital can be a scary and frightening place at the best of times and I'm so glad you are OK but PLEASE PLEASE come and talk to us anytime, there's always somebody about anytime of day!

    :)

This is one of the many posts on this thread I wish I could thank ten times. x
    Hope is not a strategy.
