  • Just out of interest, I spent £200 today and the SA took all 3 of the £5 off £40 I had. I didn't know it was possible but she said "let's give it a try" - computer said "yes". :rotfl:

Just thought I would mention it as I know in the past I have tried to break my shopping into £40 chunks to use the vouchers but it isn't necessary.

My nightly update is all very bad news guys :(:(:(:(:(:(

When Mr 3Dogs went down to theatre yesterday, the surgeon expected a routine 1 1/2 hours clean out of infection and fit a drain to get rid of the fluid, but, he just happened to look behind a tube and ................................ found a large hard lump on the back of Mr 3Dogs' larger bowel, which is a tumour and has spread to his liver, which had a few lesions too. So his routine op turned into 4 1/2 hour complicated surgery to remove the tumour and the whole back of the larger bowel and the lesions from the liver. He couldn't stitch the bowel back up as not enough left so Mr 3Dogs now has a 'bag' which is permanent :( The tissue removed has been sent to pathology for analysis and the consultants will be meeting next Thursday to discuss treatment and prognosis, but they have said it is very bad, and uncurable :(

When I went over today to see him, he was on a drip and strong antibiotics, plus patient controlled morphine - he presses a button when the light comes on every 4 minutes to administer morphine. He is remaining positive but does know what is involved. He said, having helped others through their cancer, that he could lie there sobbing and yelling 'Why me?' but that won't make any difference to the facts. He has bowel cancer which has spread to the liver, it is Stage IV, Fianl Stage, and uncurable. Chemo can make halt or slow the growth/spread of the cancer and extend his life, but that is all, and he is going to face it full on

Added to this, the van overheated as I got the the hospital so I just had to pull onto the grass, and when I came out I had a £40/£80 parking ticket private company ;). I limped the van to the nearest garage but when I put water in, it poured out the bottom again as a hose had gone, so I called breakdown who said they would be there within 60 minutes, but took 95 mins. Guy refitted and tightened hose so I got home

I have spent most of the night texting and talking on the phone but have yet to tell Mr 3Dogs' family :o that will be tomorrow now as I am exhausted. I am at the vets at 9am for pup Molly's first injections, then calling at car boot/cafe to let them know about Mr 3Dogs as we have very close friends there. Will go over to see him again at 2 pm and the McMillan Nurse is coming to see us re financial and other help when I am there

By the way, the doctor confirmed that Alan's Bowel Cancer/Liver lesions are not connected to his Grade I Superficial Bladder Cancer in December 2007, not is it connected to the appendicitis or the infection from the op. Also, he just had the all clear from routine bowel cancer tests for over 60's in January. It must have been building up for about 2 years to get to the stage it is at, and has only been found now by chance

Got to add that I went to Mr T in March this morning and found a glitch - Tesco Flavoured Sparkling Water - Peach Flavour - normally 4 for £1.50, went through at 20p each. I did a search and see it has already been mentioned but can confirm I bought 4 and paid 80p, offer did not come off as well as reduced price. I have been looking forward to posting my first glitch, but somehow, it does not feel the same, given the day I have had :(

Had the estate agent around today showing some prospective tennants the property. My house is spotless but there are only so many places you can hide 30 bottles of softner, so id left them neatly and organised on the counter in the utility. Could have rolled on the floor when she said her boyf was a friend of Martins!! And asked if i got any of the juicy action during real dtd!!! Come on, show yourself
Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.

I think the only pages it distorts are those that have small laptops/netbooks. As pics are fine on my laptop.

It distorts mine and I'm on a desktop with a 19" monitor........

To whoever enquired as to how the cat got up there, me thinks it jumps up from the strategically placed various levels :D

When I was living in my parents' house, we had outbuildings with a high roof and beam running across. I noticed one day that I hadn't seen Rumple for a good while (about half a day) and proceeded to look around the house, then the outbuildings.

I walked in and called his name, and heard distressed miaowing, so I called and called, checking everything, storage boxes, behind a massive satinwood armoir, inside the massive armoir, COULDN'T find him.

It was then I looked up, and saw he had somehow managed to leap up onto this beam, now this beam was HIGH, about 12 ft off the ground. I got my brother and he got him down using a ladder, I worked out the only way he could have got there was to jump on top of the armoir (6ft) up onto a ledge about an inch deep and leap a good 3ft from there up onto the beam!

Before the neighbours next door fixed their fence, a 16 year old and now partially sighted Rumple used to walk along their rickety fence with no topper wood with no trouble when it was about 2mm thick at most, yet he'd fall off a table! Cats make NO sense and I love them for it! :rotfl:

Just back from T's, handed over my wombled (sort of ;)) £5 off £40 spend voucher, my free bubbly choc voucher, 3 small JTD vouchers and my wad of SSM vouchers.

The cashier put them through, and asked suspiciously where I got them from. I described in great detail thereby boring her rigid and making her wish she'd never asked :rotfl:

Came up against the whole one per item thingie which I challenged again (but far more nicely than the other day in Troutbridge) as this is my local, and was told s a new policy to take one per item as they've been losing money through coupons being taken wrongly. I pointed out that they shouldn't have a problem getting the money from the manufacturer since the coupons didn't state one per item, the SA who'd come to assist (no managers ANYWHERE!) said I had a point and should write to HO about it.

Cheers for the suggestion but I was already going to :rotfl:

Meanwhile the cardboard ad sign that was blocking our scanner has been replaced with a stack of DVD players (or something, wasn't paying too much attention!) so we can't even reach around, but since it hasn't worked at all for about 3 weeks, it's no real loss!

Anyway a £64.** shop went down to £49.** after instore offers and then down to £33.** with coupons so I'm 'appy! :D

When they scan the second coupon for the one item what happens? Does it say on the SA's scree "item not purchased" or something like that?

My heart goes out to you, will make sure you all have a mention in my prayers.

Have had some not so good news today from the hospital regarding my mum. The doctor has said they are not certain she is over the sepsis lots of underlying conditions still and to be aware that she is still seriously ill. :(
