adding wife's name to buy-to-let

in House buying, renting & selling
We bought a buy to let house three years ago with a friend, so there is my name, my husbands and our friends name on the mortgage. Half the house is his and half ours. I think he may be missing out in future if we sell the house by not having his wife's name included in his half as he will miss out on another tax free capital gains allowance. Is this correct? and if so how do we go about adding her name? Is it just a case of contacting the mortgage company or do you have to a solicitor to do it for you?

    We had my husband's name added to a BTL purchased in my name only, we had it done through a solicitor.
