I keep seeing the microsoft update icon appear and then dissappear....but it doesnt seem to do anything
Normally, I get a message saying downloads are ready to be installed, I click on them and it carries on installing in the background.
Lately it appears for a few seconds, and loads up cpu usage so I cant do anything while it happens.
I'm really suspiscious about this......Has anyone come across a virus or similar that gives the impression microsoft is updating ?

HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -

Me too. I just went to the Windows Update site and started an install of the critical updates.
Took an absolute age, about 5 hours to process 17 updates. Maybe this is related to problems with automatic downloads?0
