Britannia.....opinion required

Before I screwed on my sensible head, I sent a letter to this parking company and appealed against the charge. They sent a letter back turning me down.

Then I realised that they may have a flaw in their own tactics and I would like some opinions of what I intend to do.

The car park I used allows 30 minutes free parking provided that a valid ticket is displayed allowing this........but I was issued one of their 'PCN' things that stated that my car was only 'seen' for 20 minutes and I produced a receipt to show that I left the shop at the same time on the ticket, (the attendant was still at my car as I came out). There is nothing in their terms and conditions that say I have to display the free ticket within a certain amount of time, and I was not in the car park for more than 30 minutes, so I don't owe them anything..........but I have already written to them. My second letter was telling them what I think about their 30 minutes free and they can go whistle. Should I send it, or should I just ignore any further letters they send me??

Thanks

  • Deeneice,

On valentine's day do you want to waste a stamp on someone as obnoxious as a PPC when you could have spent it on someone you like?

Ignore them, keep ignoring them, then ignore them some more. If you need help with that principle I could enrol some girls from my school that I sent valentines to. They knew how to play the ignore game. :-(

The whole thing is a total sham. You could get an alibi from the Pope and they would still turn down your appeal.

There is no point whatever in further correspondence, all you need to do from here on in is to totally ignore any further correspondence which gets sent to you. They will go through a set routine of letters- some from them, some from debt collection agencies, maybe even one or two from a phoney "solicitor" which will just be the debt collection agency under another name.

If you ignore each and every one- no matter what dire consequences are threatened in ever increasing font size- then they will realise you are not one of the mugs (which at the moment they think you are, as you took them seriously!) and they will go away, never to return.

This is a SCAM. They have fined you for a non-existent offence, and even had you done anything against their UNENFORCEABLE rules, they would still have no right whatever to fine you.

Hence they CANNOT enforce their demand in Court, though they will try to persuade you otherwise; and when you fail to respond to their terror campaign, they will cut their losses and give up.

Buy yourself a lottery ticket tomorrow. Then bear in mind that it has more chance of winning the jackpot than you do of getting taken to court by the Britannia scumbags.

Don't send any more letters. Ignore them completely.

Britannia are very 'tame' PPC scammers and I think there's a preview of their letters in the top thread. They never go to Court; nothing else happens at all.

If you get letters that are different than already shown in the top thread then please find time to pm Crabman with a scan or picture of those letters, so we have the up to date info for others.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Okay......so no one thinks I should write again?

Then thats what I shall do, I just wasn't sure because I had already written to them, and from the letter they would have deduced that I was the driver. But if they did take it to the extent of a County Court, they would have to prove that I owed them money, and if I wasn't there for more than their 30 free minutes, I don't. :D

Thank you, happy valentines day, if you are hunky men LOL

You are giving them far too much creedence. The less communication, the quicker they will move-on.

    MSE the dating site :blushing:
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
