AVG antivirus 2012 has altered google search

I've always used this product but am now looking for something else - suggestions?
The reason I am leaving that it has altered my Google CHrome search results with it's AVG Secure search from the web address bar. This means my searches from the address bar contain slightly different data to the ones direct from google search engine - weird and annoying. Sorry AVG, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it, you have ruined a reasonable product.
Microsoft essentials any good?
Cheers

Well done, you have actually posted a solution and not told the poster what they would be better using etc etc.
AVG is far better than Microsoft Security Essentials and can be easily configured to suit the requirements of the user. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Thanks for the reply but I am not especially techy and so I can'r figure out how to disable this annoying 2012 version feature.0 -
It's probably a default install setting, so uninstall, reinstall and watch for an option to allow you to unselect Secure Search when installing.
Or try this:

Has always worked and been unobtrusive for me, but is now total junk as it filters my results - oh well, plenty of other choices.0 -

AVG used to be good but now it is bloated, inefficient and installs loads of browser addons and toolbars that will slow your computer more than most actual malware. Dump it and go for Avast or MSEpoppy100
