London on a Sunday

Ok daughter and BF have a London weekend in April. I think they are going to book hotel somewhere near Kings Cross and they have Harry Potter booked for Saturday.
They are going down on Friday afternoon so need to decide what to do on Friday afternoon, fairly easy to fill up Friday afternoon - I think the British Museum is not too far from Kings Cross?
Everything else they tried to book for this weekend (Friday afternoon and Sunday)has not been possible to book which is a bit disappointing. The main problem is that they now have most of Sunday to fill up as their train goes late afternoon.
So what to do in London on a Sunday in April, easily accessible from Kings Cross which wont cost very much. Any suggestions?

It depends on their interests, but the British Library is free and good - everything from an original Magna Carta to hand-written Beatles lyrics and only a five minute walk from St Pancras.
They also usually have an exhibition of some sort that they charge for.
Plus they have lockers where you can stow your stuff while you look round (as long as you don't have too much ) - I think free but with £1 deposit that you get back.0 -
monument is good if you can get up all the steps, from there you could go to tower of london, tower bridge etc
or the other way to st pauls
if its nice weather and they like to walk, could go up monument, then walk to tower of london across tower bridge and along the south bank pass HMS belfast to south bank gallary, london eye across westminster bridge up to 10 downing street, though horse guards to buckingham palace
long walk but lots to see and go on if you don't mind paying0 -
If they are going to the Harry Potter tour in Leavesdon they will have the Saturday night to fill too as they probably would get the fast train 15 minute train from Euston to Watford Junction station and then a bus or cab to the studios and the tour closes early evening. Maybe a show on the Friday or Saturday evening (They could just go to the theatre box office on the day and see what offers there are on remaining day seats). They might enjoy Camden Market on the Sunday and you can do a canal boat trip from the lock to London Zoo (there are usually 2for 1 zoo vouchers on the train days out site). They could eaisly spend the day the Museums in South Kensington (Natural history, Science and Victoria and Albert are all beside each other) and walk to Kensington Gardens from there. Covent Garden is fun to wander around with the street entertainers. They might also want to consider doing a London tour using a daily travelcard.

If they haven't already booked a room, have a look at http://www.grangehotels.com . The St Pauls one is literally opposite St Pauls Cathedral, because it is in the financial quarter where all the business is done Monday to Friday, these 5* hotels are really cheap at weekends.
Nowhere is far in London with the tube, you are only ever a few stops from something going on.. there is Covent Garden with its little market, bars, restaurants and street entertainers or Museums, Parks, Buckingham Palace or something really special like Columbia Road flower Market in Bethnal Green which is a real taste of old fashioned London, a real hidden gem.0 -

As previous poster suggested, a stroll along the canal from Kings X to Camden will put them in the heart of trendy market madness. Might not be as good an idea if on a tight budget, but plenty to see and watch even so.
For something more highbrow Kings Place in Kings X has several free events on over weekends, classical, jazz, readings or a stroll along the Southbank from Tower Bridge to Waterloo, taking in the Golden Hinde, HMS Belfast and various other free sights.0 -
