Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo E6300 £363

Options
Hi this is in our local comet ex display reduced to £363.

It has intel core 2 duo
1gb ram
250 gb hard drive
256mb nvidia gf7300 graphics.

but i could not find much more detail about it, and when i asked the lad looked as if he could not write his ow name never mind give any more detail.

Is anyone able to find any more details about this to see if it is a good buy or not.

I have searched but have come up with nothing

Thanks

He was probably thinking, if I tell his person about search engines, will they have enough intelligence to figure it out? ;)

It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.

Specwise, it's a reasonable price. However, I've got 3 Fujitsu-siemens laptops and though they are quite capable machines, fujitsu-siemens aren't that quick on the support front. If you can make do without any 'support' from them, then go for it. Likewise the system your looking at isn't really geared for games, so if you were considering gaming with it. I'd look elsewhere.

After going back for another look i have decided not to buy.

Comet have however now reduced the price of the emachines E4062 down to £229 instore.
    http://uk.emachines.com/products/products.html?prod=E4062
Which looks like an offer almost too good to refuse.

There is also an online offer for the E4064
    http://uk.emachines.com/products/products.html?prod=E4064
    For £288 inc p+p

And the only real difference i can see is the 4062 has 512mb ram compared to 1024 with the 4064
And the 4062 has 120gb hard drive compared to 200gb with the 4064.

Will i be better off going for the cheaper machine, and adding another 512 stick??

The extra hard drive space should not be a problem as i have a 160gb external drive.

I myself think that i should get the 4062 for £229 and upgrade the memory.

But maybe i am missing something.

I would appreciate others opion before going to buy this machine in the morning.
    Thank you :)

I went back to comet with the intention of buying the 4062.
I noticed that they now had on display a 4064 for £269.99.
I asked this time, a very knowledgable and helpfull young man.
After chatting with him for a while, it turned out that the display model was the only one, so they knocked 10% off bringing the price down to £243.

So i walked away with what i think is an excellent deal :)
