Is there a scheme?..
Where you can donate the coppers which are left on gift cards to charity? The reason I ask is that we have some gift cards, e.g. HMV, and prepaid cards, which have balances of only pennies (due to so many items costing £9.99 etc). I was going to bin them as we always forget to take them with us to the shops, but then wondered if there is any charity/good cause that could use.
Obviously not worth posting them anywhere and I suspect the answer to my query is NO, but I thought it worth asking.
Hope this makes sense!

Sorry, I realise that this doesn't answer your question but that just seems like such a good idea, even if there isn't. However, I'm not sure that there would be a way for a charity to claw back any money put on a card and don't think that there is0

What a brilliant idea! I've got a Bluewater card with about 70p left on it, can't really spend it, don't want to throw it away, I wonder if any charity could set up a collection scheme for these things...Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
