Water/drainage over neighbour's land

When the deed talks about the 'septic tank', I would hope this would also include maintenance to the soakaway for the liquid waste from the tank? At some point the soakaway may need digging out/replacing, and I imagine the neighbour would want a contribution to that too.0

There is no definition of 'septic tank' so whether it includes the soakaway is a legal battle for the future.
But not likely to be my battle as relations at present are good.
My concern was to ensure any future sale of the property (eg by my Executers) would not be complicated by lack of stated rights to water/sewerage. Hopefully I've now acheived this.0 -

Having accepted the sewage onto their land, I would rather imagine it would be in the interest of the other party to permit such works!0 -

Well, there's always this issue.....
Well, yes, I WAS thinking of the two issues (that we know about so far)0 -
I now believe option one could be done immediately since I could ask the previous owner, who lived here with the same arrangement for well over 5 years0

Post-building spambot at #18 (09.12) reported. It's simply an extract from an earlier post and, its only other post on another thread makes no sense either.0

Glad it's sorted - although HMLR seem to have taken their time.
I thoroughly enjoyed your pond thread, so thanks for that!0 -
