Charges on balance transfers _may_ be levied?

Hi all,
I am shopping around for a new card, and I would like to know if I am going to have balance transfer handling fees charged on the card. I read sometimes phrases like: "A service fee of 2% may be charged for balance transfers" (Citi Platinum), or "A handling fee may be charged for balance transfers" (Virgin). How does one find out if a charge is going to be levied? Are there existing threads discussing this charges? I couldn’t find any.
In particular, do you know if any of the above named providers normally charges those fees?
Thanks

Within the above thread are some pointers as to BT fees. I've just applied for a Virgin (backed by MBNA) card and I've been told there are no BT charges. Someone else has said that Egg do not charge for BT's at any time in the 0% period.
The issue of BT fees has been discussed many times in recent days/last week on this board, but may not be referenced in the post title. If no-one else comes back with a definitive "list" of providers, I'm afraid you're going to have to read all the posts to find the bit(s) you're looking for.
