charges for using a company to claim ppi!!!
pankhurst
Stupidly I have used a company to claim my PPI back for me. I only supplied them with 1 loan agreement num and 1 car loan agreement num. There was nothing owing on my car loan but had luck with the personal loan. A couple of weeks later my bank contacted me saying I had other loans previous and they were dealing with them too. The claims company then wrote to me outlining their fee which took into account the other loans found by the bank. They want to charge me 25% on the whole amount which I am loathed to do as I never entered into a legally binding contract with the other 2. Also they want to charge 20% V.A.T on top to add insult to injury. Does any one have any answers to this kind of problem? Would appreciate any advice on this.

Very unfortunate pankhurst, there is nothing you can do about it. You have supplied them with an account number, the bank have unearthed other loans, the claims company will claim it's their action that has shown up the other loans and they will demand their cut
This is why we do not advocate using claims companies, they get a huge amount of your redress for doing very little
It has just been reported that they stand to gain £12m pounds between them this year alone :mad:Successes
Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid
MBNA £3,600 Paid

Check the Ts & Cs that you have signed with them. If they state that they will ask the bank to investigate all claims inyour name (or something like that) then you have to pay - They have done what was asked of them after all, and you are better off as a result!
If not, then you might be able to get out of paying them on the additional claims.
Remember to play nice with them rather than going off on one with them. A calm, polite complaint is always more likely to get a favourable response than an aggressive one!
