Thanks for swift reply but this is what comes to my computer from that link:-
Thank you for your interest in obtaining updates from our site.
To use this site, you must be running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or later.
To upgrade to the latest version of the browser, go to the Internet Explorer Downloads website.
If you prefer to use a different web browser, you can obtain updates from the Microsoft Download Center or you can stay up to date with the latest critical and security updates by using Automatic Updates. To turn on Automatic Updates:
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Depending on which Control Panel view you use, Classic or Category, do one of the following:
* Click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
* Click Performance and Maintenance, click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
3. Click the option that you want. Make sure Automatic Updates is not turned off.
I also get the same when i try to use IE7?

Something must have changed, usually it loads the WGA asks you to verrify and you get the option to download the updates. I'd enable Auto Update, let it have it's fun then turn it off again. If that doesn't work, you could try here: http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/index.html hopefully, it will take the stress out of the situation
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
Not to be rude, but is it a legit copy? They've started blocking non legit ones, but I think they warn you why they do it. Also if it's xp is it up to service pack 2?
Finally it might be a corrupt download control, which used to be easy to delete in ie6, in ie 7 I think it's the muweb.dll in addins, but couldn't say for sure...0 -
