Egg credit card and Egg loan PPI claim

Hi,
I am trying to claim the PPI back on a credit card and loan I had through Egg. I do not have the paperwork for either anymore and I have tried to look online for the details but cannot find the account numbers. I wrote to them using the template from MSE and enclosed a cheque for £2 (as I was asking for details of 2 account). I was sent my letter and cheque back with a letter saying that Barclays has taken over the account and if I wish to make payments to my account to send the cheque to them! What should my next step be? Shall I contact Barclays or Egg?
Any help would be gratefully received!
Thanks

You need to contact Barclays, you may have to do a SAR,enclose £10 and this will get all info they hold on you, this should throw up the CC and the loan.
With the loan you may be able to get the account number from your DD at your bank,if you do internet banking, look on your DD list,or ring the bank and see if they can find this.0 -
Thanks for the information, really helpful. Just one more thing, what is a SAR?0
