Hi there
I wrote to Yorkshire Bank recently with a £1 postal order (I had first sent this letter in August last year but it was returned as I had forgotten to enclose the postal order/cheque and have only just sent it off).
This was in regards to a loan my husband took out in the early 2000's which was added to in around Dec 2004, therefore creating a new loan an cancelling the old loan. That loan was repaid in Dec 2009 (or 2008, not sure!).
The letter basically states it has been too long and no paperwork is held as it has been destroyed.
Is it now too late to do anything in regards to reclaiming the PPI? The letter actually says that the first loan's paperwork has been destroyed due to the passage of time, and then goes on to state 'please note than loan number XXX (the second loan, taken in Dec 2004) has been repaid. When loans have been repaid, there is no longer an agreement in place under the CCA'.
Is that it? Too late?

Hi there
Still get a reclaim in with your reasons, and in my opinion if this was settled 2008/09, then they should have that information as from 2006 at least.
Get your reclaim in, if you still have the account number, then go for it.
They may just come back with an offer if they cannot track down the information from when the account was taken out, but worth a shot, good luck.
Many have made successful reclaims without the paperwork.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"
