Sky+ recording failed - error mesages

Does anyone know what these error messages mean

Failed rec, Technical fault - 8
and
Failed rec, Technical fault - 12

And are they serious? Is it the fault of the Sky+ box, or is it as Sky's end?

Any ideas??

  • not sure but you could try to reset your box, which is what sky will tell you to do, turn sky off at socket, wait 1 min then turn back on, you should here a click sound this means its reset it self. then try the housekeeping tool. select services
    press no 4
    press 01+select
    press no 7
    sky+ planner rebuild
    press select
    box turns off wait 60 sec's
    press sky button
    sky comes back on
    this will free up space on your hard drive
    hope this helps

    Put it into standby and give the Hard Drive time to stop spinning before you switch the power off at the wall socket!

    If the planner rebuild fails to fix your fault, you'll have to do a full erase (also in the secret Installer menu).
