Boiler has gone off - Pilot fires then goes off ??

Hello I am hoping someone can help me please as I cant get hold of my landlord !!

My ravenheat boiler has decided to go off . When I switch it on with the water and heat buttons it sounds like it is firing then moments later I get a red light and it doesn't start up .

I have looked online and cant even find which model it is I have or any help . And it is freezing here and I have had no hot water since yesterday so any help will be great please ??

I currently have it set to nearly 2 bar and I have tried switching it on and off again and so far had no luck :(

  • Hi keys, you would be best not to fiddle at all with it as it could be so many things, but with you saying "the pilot" do you have a pilot light that stays on all the time or does the boiler fire on and off when needed? If you do have a pilot (there is usually a "clicker" button to light it behind the panel on the front) and it will light but not stay lit it may be the thermocouple, but I doubt it will have a pilot if it is a modern boiler. Best to wait until you reach your landlord.

  • This happened with my boiler last week. It's a combi i.e. hot water on demand, no tank. The manual told me to press the reset button underneath. Lo and behold there was a reset button (clearly marked as such only I'd never looked under the boiler before!!) and when I pressed it the boiler fired up. Long shot I know but have a look all round and see if there is a reset button. Also Ravenheat customer service might be able to help you identify it so you can look up the manual. Otherwise, I hope you get in contact with your LL and they get it sorted soon.

I have just had another close inspection of it . Originally he pilot light was igniting when it should last night - now its not !! It is one that fires up when needed - when you press the water or heating button .

I have just pressed the water button and it sounds like it is about to start { like usual} - then when I turn on the hot water tap it sounds like its working - but doesnt get hot { obviously } however the boiler sounds like it working . There is no pilot light now thow and the red light shows after a while .

I will try ravenheat - Edit - They are not answering
    thanks for your replies
