cheap monitor risers?

Hi All,
We are looking to purchase some monitor risers (approximately 15)
We've found some online at around £12 but some of our taller staff may need 2.
Has anyone seen any on offer anywhere? We've checked usual places like Amazon, but being a school, we need save as many pennies as possible!!
Many Thanks,
Matilda.CS

I've always used a copy of the Yellow Pages though they aren't as thick these days
It might be best to contact the sellers and try and get a quantity rate out of them. It might also be worth checking freecycle and local second hand office furniture warehouses.0 -

Oh, just realised my first post was wrong... We all have dual monitors, so the taller people will need FOUR!!!
We would want/need new ones for the office. (for the sake of a few quid)0 -

You aren't going to get them much cheaper. You need to contact them direct and see if they will do a bulk discount, they can only say no.
The other option as your school is if you have a woodworking department, get the kids to make some, you could make them to what ever size you want then.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -

I've been saying this for years... We have Painting and Decorating students, but have to pay contractors to paint and decorate... Some drivvel about labour laws and insurance... Same story for Woodworking. We can pay a tutor to make them, but then we are still paying them and paying for the resources...
Will attempt to get a "bulk discount"0 -

Do it on the sly lol. Tell the students its part of the curriculum to follow a plan and build it lol.
Even getting the tutor to make them could be cost effective, your already paying the tutor anyway so you wouldn't pay anymore just the wood and screws needed.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -

We pay the teachers to teach!! (Not make monitor risers!!)
Would have to pay them going rate, as it's 'extra curricular'
We'll get the kids to do it... They dont know about trade laws and unions and stuff...
(ps. this is a joke....Just in case my boss sees)

If you have an ikea near you, then there are plenty of cheap bits you can use for your office
I currently use this for my laptop and separate keyboard. Has the advantage of having holes in it for air circulation!
Just needs a bit of imagination!

OP, how about sending letters to some local large businesses or organisations requesting if they have any they may be able to donate. Those of whom l know are usual good contacts would be banks and local councils etc, you will be surprised as to what they throw out on a regular basis.0
