We have been based overseas for a number of years and are now due to move back to UK for our final posting before Mr Gonzo's retirement from service.
I have heard a rumour that you now have to insure the buildings of your SFA for a nominal amount, 20k ish. Is this true, or just another rumour. Not bothered either way but need to start looking at home insurance policies.
TIA

You are right that while in SFA you have a liability for the first £20,000 of the building in the event of damage.
YOu won't get this through any of the normal civvy companies so your best bet is to stick with a specialist forces company such as PAX, Abacus, Tgate, Forces FInancial - in fact any policy you get through a member company of SIIAP should do you.I am a Financial Adviser specialising in Mortgages, Protection, Health and Medical Insurance. I also write wills. All information posted on this site is for discussion only, and should not be taken as advice.0 -
